I think almost everyone knows how great of a town Austin, Texas is. So when we moved away about 6 months ago for Roanoke, VA, I wouldn't exactly say we got a resounding thumbs up. I could go on for hours about how great Austin is:
it's a young progressive city
a great night life
outdoor activities galore
most importantly a huge tech bed.
Having said that, I do believe Roanoke has a lot of good qualities that we are just beginning to discover. Besides the over-the-top friendly locals, you get a laid back lifestyle and a great family oriented city with plenty to do for outdoor enthusiasts. Even with our kids being 4 and 1, you can still enjoy a good day hike. I'll post some pictures in a while.
I would say the biggest thing I miss about Austin is KGSR! One positive is I can at least stream it on the web...

Okay, but the real question is: What sort of mosquito population does Roanoke have?
We live in the mountians, there are no mosquito's.
