No Recycling in Roanoke County, WTF???

I've been in Roanoke for a little over a year now and am still in shock over the fact that Roanoke County doesn't do curbside pickup of recycling. Here we are living in the 21st century and there are still places in the U.S. where recycling isn't taken seriously. I don't care what your political affiliation is, there is no denying that Americans are the most wasteful of any other nation.

Given that, our family has decided to take things into our own hands. We are storing our recyclables thanks to some bins from suncast. We will be taking them to recycling centers around town. Check out CVC for info on how to recycle in the Roanoke Valley (Yeah the chair freaks me out too).

Of course, this poses another problem in that it increases our carbon footprint due to driving more.
